This page explains what SimpleDirect does with data on try.getsimpledirect.com, our free showcase API. Read it before using the service.

Where it runs

try.getsimpledirect.com runs on Canadian sovereign infrastructure: model inference on GPU clusters in Rimouski, Quebec, and server (non-GPU) workloads in Montreal, Quebec. Your queries are processed on Canadian compute, under Canadian jurisdiction, by Canadian-trained models.

Your queries are not sent to

  • OpenAI
  • Anthropic
  • Google
  • Any US-routed inference service

What we store

Zero Data Retention by default

By default, Vinci doesn't store the content of your conversations — they're processed to answer you and then discarded, and only basic counts are kept (never what you typed). If you turn on memory (off by default), your conversations are saved so Vinci can recall them — and you can view, export, and delete them anytime.

What we do not do

  • We don't train our models on your conversations unless you opt in.
  • We don't sell your data.
  • We don't share your conversations with third parties. Limited service providers process data for us under contract — see our Privacy Policy.
  • We don't use your data for marketing analytics.

  • Public-domain research queries
  • Drafting general content
  • Learning what specialized Canadian AI can and can't do

What this is not for

  • Client work product
  • Confidential information subject to professional privilege
  • Personal health information
  • Anything you would not want to see in a data breach

If you need confidential use

Deploy SimpleDirect in your own infrastructure. The open weights are free on Hugging Face. The licensed cloud-deploy package runs in your own AWS / Azure / GCP tenancy.

Customer agency

For any data type, we trust you to make the right call. We won't gatekeep based on what you type — that's your decision as a professional. We give you the trade-offs in plain language. The choice is yours.

Your controls

If you turn on memory, you can view, export, and delete your stored data from the app's data settings. You can withdraw consent — for memory or model improvement — at any time.
