Acceptable Use Policy
These are the ground rules for using Vinci — across the web app, the mobile apps, the Vinci Platform, and the developer API — and they're part of our Terms of Service. First, the part that matters most to your privacy: we don't read, monitor, or scan your conversations. This policy isn't enforced by watching what you type — it's enforced through reports and complaints people send us, and our legal obligations.
What this policy covers
This policy governs the Vinci services we operate: the apps, the managed gateway, the developer API, and your account. It does not govern what you do with a copy of our software running on your own computer against a provider you contract with directly — there, the software licence, the terms of the provider you chose, and the law apply. We can enforce this policy where we operate the service; we neither monitor nor control a client running entirely on your machine.
We don't monitor your conversations
To be clear: Vinci runs with zero data retention across the web app, the mobile apps, and the API. We don't read, store, scan, or train on your chats to police this policy — privacy is the entire point of the product. What we do act on is what's reported to us: abuse reports, complaints, and valid legal requests. The rules below tell you what isn't allowed; how we learn about a problem is through those reports, not surveillance.
What's not allowed
Don't use the service to do, or to help anyone do, the following:
- Illegal activityAnything that breaks applicable law, or that facilitates it, on the website, the web app, the mobile apps, or the API.
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM)Zero tolerance. We prohibit any content that sexualizes minors and report CSAM to the appropriate authorities.
- Violence and extremismPromoting terrorism or violent extremism, or inciting or threatening violence against people.
- Weapons and dangerous instructionsInstructions for weapons, explosives, or chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear (CBRN) harm.
- Non-consensual intimate imagerySexual content depicting real people without their consent, including synthetic or "deepfake" imagery. (Content involving minors is covered above, with zero tolerance.)
- Harassment, abuse, and harmThreats, harassment, hate, or content intended to harm or exploit others.
- Malware and attacksCreating malware, or attacking, overloading, or attempting to gain unauthorized access to the Services or others' systems.
- Scraping and API abuseAutomated scraping or bulk extraction from the apps, exceeding the rate limits or quotas on the API, sharing or reselling API keys or access in a way that abuses the free service, or running pipelines designed to evade our limits.
- Attacking the model or other usersTrying to extract training data, reverse engineer protected systems, circumvent safety or rate limits, or attempt to identify, re-identify, or de-anonymize other users.
- High-risk reliance without human reviewUsing outputs to make medical, legal, financial, employment, or other high-stakes or legally significant decisions about people without independent professional review and meaningful human oversight.
- Violating others' rightsGenerating content that infringes intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights, or impersonates others.
- Deception and spamFraud, scams, disinformation campaigns, or bulk unsolicited messaging.
How we enforce this
Because we don't monitor conversations, enforcement is driven by reports and complaints we receive and by our legal obligations. When we get a credible report, we may investigate the account involved and warn, limit, suspend, or terminate access, and remove content we host. Serious or unlawful activity may be referred to the appropriate authorities.
Reporting abuse
To report a violation, email [email protected]. Suspected CSAM is reported to the appropriate authorities; you can also report it directly to them.
